CAMBODIA – Wonder of Ancient World
Cambodia is one of Indochina most fascinating destination. The country’s unique Khmer culture, thrived between the 9th and 14th centuries, has remained very much in tact. The magnificent temples, forest with giant tree roots draped over sandstone Buddha faces, banyan trees and lines of celestial nymphs appear on 100-meter friezes have won Angkor region the top archeological site in South East Asia and one of “the wonders of Ancient World”. The capital Phnom Penh, which traces of its former splendors are visible at the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda, still amaze tourists with its contrasting architecture of ancient Khmer temple structures and classic French colonial buildings.
LAO – Land of a million Elephants
Laos remains a stronghold of tradition and one of the secrets in South East Asia. This country offers great natural beauty, with unspoiled mountain, plateau and river regions. The capital Vientiane and Luang Prabang, the former royal capital, are two of the many highlights in Laos. Visitors can jungle-trek, ride elephants in the Bolovens Plateau area or kayaking on a 12-kilometer stretch of the Nam Song River. For a more laid-back life-style activities – a day trip to the dazzling Pak Ou Caves on the Mekong or a city tour of the old capital Luang Prabang, one of the best-preserved traditional cities in South East Asia.
