CRUISE DESCRIPTION

Our boats are 34 metres long with a 420 HP engine and a steel hull for strength and safety. The boats have a capacity for 40 people in comfortable seats and benches. Each seat has an open air vista. We have coffee tables with magazines and booklets to read during your cruise. The central section of our Luangsay boats have bench seats, a perfect spot for a game of cards, to share your Mekong stories, or to have lunch.

 

LUANG SAY CRUISES

Our boats travel on the Mekong River from Houei Say to Luang Prabang in Laos, and, in the other direction, from Luang Prabang to Huay Xai.

Your cruise on the Mekong to the Luang Say Lodge, near the town of Pakbeng, will take about 7 – 8 hours. The one night accommodation is in one of the more comfortable Lodges in the region. From your luxury teak and rosewood bungalow, you can view the dramatic river scenery of the Mekong, enjoying the fiery and romantic sunset and the mysterious and poetic sunrise. It is a pleasure to have dinner in the middle of the mountains of northern Laos.

 

LUANG SAY LODGE

The LuangSay Lodge is situated on four hectares of land with a traditional Laotian architectural design of 20 large bungalows, each with large open air windows looking out over the Mekong River and mountains.

Bungalow amenities:

  • Mosquito nets / electric mosquito coils
  • A ceiling fan and private bathrooms
  • Hot shower and a western style toilet

Down River: Houei Sai – Pak Beng – Luang Prabang (depart Monday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday**.

Up River: Luang Prabang – Pak beng – Hoiei Say (depart Monday, Tuesday and Friday)

Down River: Houei Say – Pak Beng – Luang Prabang (Depart Monday, Thursday and Friday)

  • 2 days 1 night between Chiang Khong / Houei Say

Down River depart Monday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday**.

Up River depart Tuesday, Wednesday & Saturday

Notes: please check itinerary for low season. There will be less cruises in operation in low season.
